OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

hereinafter referred to as the “Station(s)”
 
“MUNCH MADNESS PORK ROLL EATING CONTEST”
 
Section 1
Contest
 


 
  • Duration.  The Station, operated by Nassau Broadcasting I, L.L.C., is running a  promotional eating contest from Monday, February 27, 2012 until Sunday, April 1, 2012.

 

1.2 How to Enter and Win.

  1.2.1    The Grand Finale pork roll eating contest will be held on Sunday, April 1, 2012, from 4pm to 7pm at Big Woody’s located at 1841 South 4th Street in Allentown, PA. (the “Grand Finale”). 
 

1.2.2   To qualify for the Grand Finale, participants (a) must enter and win a Qualifying Round, as defined below.   The exact date, time and location for each qualifying round will be announced on the air during the ESPN Happy Hour and will be posted on www.espnlv.com; or (b) call the studio and tell The ESPN Happy Hour Guys what eating stunt you would be willing to perform in the studio.  The person(s) with the winning idea(s), who performs the whole stunt, will win a seat at the Grand Finale and an ESPN Grand Finale Shirt.   Past Grand Finale Winners will automatically be entered for the 5th Annual Munch Madness Eating Finale on April 1, 2012.

  

1.2.3  Qualifying Rounds:  Contestants must show up to one of the qualifying rounds at the time and location indicated by the Station.  Registration will take place between 4pm and 5:30pm at each location. Registrants must execute a Release Form as provided by the Station.  At each Qualifying Round, there will be a predetermined food item that must be consumed.  Possible foods include steamers, wings, jalapeno poppers, chicken fingers, French fries, pork, hot dogs, ice cream, ribs, hush puppies, pickles and pierogies. The competitors must eat as much of the predetermined food as possible, within the allotted amount of time.  There could be more than one qualifier per round to win a seat at the Grand Finale and an ESPN Grand Finale Shirt.  In the event of a tie(s), tie breaker rounds will continue until there is one winner per qualifier round (“Qualifying Round”).

  

1.2.4  Grand Finale: The participants in the Grand Finale must register with the Station between 4pm and 5:15pm.  There will be one, twelve (12) minute round in which contestants will compete to eat as much pork roll as possible within the allotted period of time.  Competitors will be assigned (2) two designated contest officials who will be responsible for giving the contestant more pork roll and who will determine how much pork roll was eaten.  There will be 2 pounds of pork roll on each plate including additional plates.  The pork roll will be cut into slices.  Each plate will be weighed.  Officials will signal for a new plate when there are 5 slices on the plate.  A new plate with 2 pounds of pork roll will be delivered immediately.  The competitor who eats the most pork roll will win the Grand Prize, as defined below.  In the event of a tie(s), tie breaker rounds will continue until there is one winner of the Grand Finale. 

 
1.3           Rules for Qualifying Round and Grand Finale
 
                1.3.1        Competitors may sit or stand.
 
                1.3.2        Competitors may use utensils provided by the establishment if you choose.
 
                1.3.3        Competitors must eat their food in a safe fashion, but in any style, with or without condiments and with or without beverage.  Beverage of water will be supplied  by venue. You may not bring your own beverage from home.  If you prefer, beer,  you will be responsible for payment.
 
                1.3.4        Napkins, paper towels or any paper products will not be allowed until the end of the contest.
 
                1.3.5        A competitor will be disqualified if they leave the contest table for  any reason during the contest.
 
                1.3.6        Competitors will be disqualified if they purge or vomit at any  point during the contest or within 15 minutes after the contest.
 
                1.3.7        Competitors will have 10 seconds to swallow what is in their mouth.  If  food is still in the mouth, it will be added to the plate of leftovers.
 
                1.3.8        All decisions and disputes will be decided by Station officials.  All  decisions are made in their sole and absolute discretion and are final and conclusive. 
               
1.3.9  Station reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify a contestant(s) for disruptive behavior.

 1.3.10  Competitors may not touch the food items before the contest begins.

 
1.3.11  Competitors will be disqualified if they dispose of food in any other way than to eat it fully. Interfering with another competitor in any way or with is or her food in any way will produce immediate disqualification.
 
1.3.12  A competitor with a serious ailment or health problem may not compete in the contest.

1.3.13 No arguing with Station officials.

1.3.14  In the event of a tie, there will be one (1) five (5) minute round between tied contestants.

1.3.15  WEEX is not responsible for miscalculations or inaccurate accounts of food provided for the eating contests.

 
 
1.4           Grand Finale Prizes
               
1st Prize - 4-day, 3-night escape to Harrah's Casino and Resort in Atlantic City, plus $250 spending money

2nd Prize - Tickets to a Yankees game

3rd Prize - Tickets to an IronPigs game
 
Section 2
General Qualification
 
2.1           Qualifiers must sign a waiver before contest.
 
2.2           No purchase is necessary. 
 
2.3           Must be at least 21 years old.
 
2.4           Odds of winning will depend on the number of qualified entries.
 
2.5           Contest is open to all residents of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. All employees, agents,  successors, interns, and assignees of Nassau Broadcasting I, LLC, employees of other radio or  television stations and members of their immediate families are ineligible. The term "immediate    family" includes spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren, whether as "in-laws", or by current or past marriage(s), remarriage(s), adoption, co-habitation or other family extension and any other persons residing at the same household whether or not related.    Participants and winner(s) must be U.S. residents.
 
 

  1.         By participating, all participants and winner(s) grant Station and Nassau Broadcasting I, LLC the  permission to use their names, characters, photographs, voices, and likeness in connection with the promotion (via print, broadcast or other forms of media) of this and other contests and waive any claims to royalty, right, compensation or remuneration for such use. By calling the contest lines,               voices and names may be recorded and used for promotional or broadcast purposes.  Finalists of     this contest specifically acknowledge that they will be monitored via a studio webcam that is accessible to the public via the internet. 

 
 

  1.         All participants must be physically able to participate in the contest and must not have any physical, psychological, medical or other reason such as heart condition, food allergies, diabetes, etc., that would adversely affect their health. 

 
2.8           Only one winner per prize. No "duos," groups, or teams will be allowed to enter together. Any ties, disputes, conflicts, questions, or concerns, regarding the Contest and/or the prize(s), will be handled by the Nassau Broadcasting I, LLC whose decision(s) are final and indisputable.


Section 3
Acceptance and Delivery of Prize
 
 

  1. All prizes must be accepted as awarded. All prize(s) are non-transferable. Inability to accept or deliver prize(s) will result in forfeiture.  Nassau Broadcasting I, LLC retains the right to substitute  prize(s) with other prize(s) of equal or greater value in the event the original prize(s) offered is not  available for reasons beyond the reasonable control of Nassau Broadcasting I, LLC.  Any valuation of the prize(s) awarded is based on available information provided to Station, and the  value of any prize (as determine by Station in its sole discretion) awarded to a winner may be reported for tax purposes as required by law.

 
 

  1. It is anticipated that qualifiers should have possession of the their qualifying prize within 80 days of winning, however, Nassau Broadcasting I, LLC makes no guarantee as to the actual delivery date.

 
 

  1. All Contest(s)/Prize(s) subject to Federal, State, and local regulations and laws and are void where   restricted or prohibited by law.

 
 

  1. If prize(s) includes travel, lodging, entertainment, special event, or an automobile, the winner(s) is    responsible for all taxes, expenses, and gratuities not expressly included in and as part of the prize(s). Winners agree to all blackout periods, space availability requirements, etc., as stated by  the Station and Contest prize partner(s), which shall include hotels, airlines, train travel, ship/boat   travel, etc. Winner(s) agree that acceptance of any trip as a prize(s) from Station does so entirely  upon their own initiative, risk, and responsibility.

 
 

  1. Winner(s) must use their true, legal, name when playing contests or claiming prize(s) and may not    win any contest under an assumed name. Winner(s) will be disqualified and prize(s) forfeited if  they are found playing under an assumed name or alias.



Section 4
Conditions of Winning
 
 

  1. Any person winning over $600 in prizes from Station will receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of   the calendar year and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS.

 
 

  1. Each winner is solely responsible for reporting and paying any and all applicable Federal, State, Local and other taxes. Each winner must provide Station with valid identification and a valid taxpayer identification number or social security number before any prize will be awarded. Failure  to timely provide such information and/or any other reasonably required documentation,   including, without limitation, a release and affidavit of eligibility, may result in delay in receiving  prizes or the forfeiture thereof. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash.

 
 

  1. Each winner must provide Station with valid identification and a valid taxpayer identification  number or social security number before any prize will be awarded. Failure to timely provide such information and/or any other reasonably required documentation, including, without limitation, a  release and affidavit of eligibility, may result in delay in receiving prizes or the forfeiture thereof.

 
 
Section 5
Indemnity
 
                All participants and winners indemnify and hold forever harmless Station, and Nassau Broadcasting I, LLC and their agencies, their agents, officers, employees, affiliates, and assigns,  for any injuries, accidents, misfortunes, losses, damages, or causes of action, arising from or in connection with participation in the Contest and/or acceptance or use of any prize(s).



Section 6
No Warranties Provided
 
                Nassau Broadcasting I, LLC and Station do not warrant any of the products, materials or services  that a Finalist receives.    The materials, services or products that a winner receives are provided “as is.”  There may be warranties provided by the manufacturer of the product, material or service,        for which Nassau Broadcasting I, LLC has no responsibility or duty to perform.
 
Section 7
Miscellaneous
 
7.1           Nassau Broadcasting I, LLC reserves the right to change contest rules and/or dates at any time  without additional notice.
 
7.2           Nassau Broadcasting I, LLC reserves the right to add or subtract additional station or stations to this contest at any time.
 
7.3           Nassau Broadcasting I, LLC is considered the “judge.” Judge’s decisions are final.
 
7.4           Nassau Broadcasting I, LLC reserves the right to end and or modify contest at any time without additional notice or further compensation required.
